Heathcote offers a welcoming village atmosphere, just over 90 minutes drive north of Melbourne and 30 minutes from everywhere else. Located in the heart of Central Victoria, Heathcote is fast becoming one of Australia’s most loved wine regions and recently established a Regional Farmers’ Market.
The market aims to connect farmers and food producers with our local community and visitors to our Region, thus our motto of ‘Grow – Trade – Eat’. The Market sells local and regionally grown and made produce and is accredited with the Victorian Farmers’ Market Association.
The Market is held in Barrack Reserve located on High Street in Heathcote. The park setting lends itself to a market with grand old oak trees for shade and chatting with friends. Picnic tables and benches are scattered throughout the park to take a break from shopping and enjoy a sausage from the monthly community run barbeque that serves locally made pork and beef sausages in sourdough rolls!
Following the Market, have a coffee at one of the many cafes in town and also take the opportunity to visit the numerous cellar doors offering sensational local wines.
Our Farmers’ Market has thirty local and regional stallholders selling a diverse selection of fresh and seasonal produce: Artisan Bread, Beauty Products, Cheese, Eggs, Food Products, Fruit, Herbal Teas, Honey, Livstock, Meats, Olives, Plants, Preserves, Ready-to-eat Food, Sheep Hides & Wool, Sweat Treats, Vegetables, Walnuts, Wine
Many of our producers have been recognised with Industry Awards for exceptional produce.
